European Commission fined 6 major gaming companies over Steam policy
Recently, a lawsuit against major manufacturers of video games ended. The European Commission found Valve and 5 other companies guilty of violating antitrust laws.
The main violation in this case was the binding of games to a specific country. So, in some countries of the European Union, purchased games on Steam cannot be activated in other countries. Companies will now have to pay a $ 9.5 million fine.

Almost all the participants in the case cooperated with the authorities, and therefore their fines were reduced by up to -15%. The only company that refused to cooperate was Valve themselves. They will pay $ 2 million, Bethesda $ 2 million, Focus Home $ 3.5 million, Koch Media $ 1.18 million, Capcom $ 479,000, and Bandai Namco $ 411,000.
