Sanitarium (Shizarium) - a graphic quest, published in 1998 by ASC Games, it uses two-dimensional backgrounds in isometric projection and sprite models. The game is a psychological thriller with horror elements.

The main character of the game is Max. He survives after a terrible car accident, he does not remember anything and ends up in a hospital for the mentally ill. His goal is to remember who he is and find out what he does in this medical institution. There are many locations in the game, which are chapters, in the original story there are 13 of them. All of them differ in their atmosphere and peculiar style; many of the locations exist only in the head of the protagonist that are built from his lost memories. As the story progresses, Max regains his memory and remembers that he was looking for a cure for a mysterious deadly disease that is killing children.

The game has a score of 8.7 on metacritic and a 94% positive rating on the Steam play store. Users note: a quest component, an immersive atmosphere, location design, an excellent plot and a good horror component for this genre. Cons - there may be problems with launching on modern devices, lack of Russian localization.

The game is available on PC, and there is also a mobile version of the project for Android and iOS.
