PlayStation expand their esports options
PlayStation announces expansion of its influence in the world of eSports. Now the company has decided to buy the technical resource Repeat.gg. On the site, players can take part in various tournaments without any problems and compete for cash prizes of various sizes. The competitive platform will support all consoles upon acquisition by PlayStation representatives.
Thus, the Japanese tech giant continues to increase its investments in the field of eSports.
Безкоштовні дорогоцінні камені, а також щоденні, щотижневі та щомісячні бонуси!
The main feature of Repeat.gg is the ability to host tournaments with accompanying leaderboards and the ability to make the competitive process easier for players. Moreover, users can compete not only in multiplayer projects, where the presence of all meeting participants on one server is required, but also in other titles in which the program will read the results of the game session and build rating tables from the leaders. Thus, gamers will be able to compete with each other without being online at the same time.
Throughout the history of Repeat.gg, the creators of the platform have hosted more than 100,000 tournaments, and the number of participants was more than 2,300,000 people.
It is noteworthy that, despite the purchase of Repeat.gg by PlayStation, the latter do not want the gaming platform to become exclusive to PS. Instead, the resource will continue to function on all platforms, including desktop and mobile devices.
For PlayStation, the purchase of Repeat.gg is not the only attempt to gain influence in the esports world. Last year, the Japanese company became one of the co-owners of Evo, the famous fighting game tournament. The latter hold events for 30 games within the PlayStation console. Last year, about 50,000 players from over 70 countries competed for $5,000,000 in 8,000 championships. This year, PlayStation also wants to host more than 8,000 tournaments for an audience that exceeds the 7,000,000 mark.
