The history of Royal Never Give Up in esports dates back to 2015, when the tag first appeared on the competitive scene of League of Legends. If you look at the historical reports, then NESO 2015 can be considered the debut RNG tournament.

As part of a global tournament, though not large, teams from 20 different regions played, and the total number of participants was 34 teams. Among all this diversity, RNG managed to “shoot”, which subsequently opened the way for them to big esports.

Royal Never Give Up in League of Legends

League of Legends gave impetus to the development of the club and for a long time entrenched itself among the main disciplines of the club.

Having appeared in 2015 and having won NESO 2015, the club acquired a slot on the LPL, the title franchise league in the competitive League of Legends. The first pen test in 2015 from RNG was quite chaotic.

At LPL Summer 2015, there were 7 players in the roster, among which were budding performers Mixg and Xiaohu, who later became RNG players for a long time. However, the first pancake turned out to be a lump, but the next season became a breakthrough for the team.

In 2016, RNG visited an international event for the first time, IEM Season X - World Championship, where they took 3rd-4th place. Then they were eliminated by Fnatic, who were in peak form.

RNG's adventures in major tournaments didn't end with the IEM Season X - World Championship. Royal Never Give Up was ahead of the TOP-4 at the Mid-Season Invitational and TOP-8 at the 2016 World Championship. In both tournaments, RNG were defeated by T1, which launched a fundamental confrontation for years to come.

Also in 2016, RNG won their first LPL. The team took 1st place at the LPL Spring 2016, defeating EDward Gaming in the final.

The brand of stability managed to hold on for a long time, and the 2017 season was the best in the history of RNG at the Worlds series tournaments. As part of Letme, Mixg, Y1HAN, Xiaohu and Uzi with Ming, the team made it to the semi-finals, where they again lost to T1 with a narrow margin.

In 2018, Royal Never Give Up finally secured the status of TIR-S team. During the year, RNG won 5 championships, including LPL Spring and LPL Summer 2018, Demacia Cup Summer 2018 and Rift Rivals 2018. In the same year, RNG brought home the first trophy from the international event - the Mid-Season Invitational 2018 Championship Cup.

The 2019 and 2020 seasons were the worst in Royal Never Give Up history. If a year after the championship at MSI 2018, the team with permanent Xiaohu and Ming made it to the Worlds and took the TOP-12 there, then in 2020 the best result was getting into the TOP-8 at LPL Spring 2018.

The “reboot” of RNG occurred in 2021 when Royal Never Give Up repeated the success of 2018. In the 2018 season, the team managed to win the LPL twice: first the LPL Spring 2021 and then the LPL Regional Finals 2021.

Also that year, Royal Never Give Up took the Mid-Season Invitational 2021 championship and took the TOP-8 at the 2021 World Championship.

In the 2022 season, RNG again became home LPL champions and triumphantly won MSI for the third time, defeating T1 in the final.

However, the South Korean club quickly responded by eliminating Royal Never Give Up from Worlds 2022 at the quarter-finals stage.

Over the history of the League of Legends division, different players of the squads have earned over $3,880,000 in prize money.

RNG in Dota 2

Expansion to the Dota 2 scene took place in 2018, which became the starting point for RNG in brand development. The debut Dota 2 RNG roster included Monet, Setsu, Srf, ah fu and 343.

In the debut season in the new discipline, RNG took 3rd place at DreamLeague Season 10, which was the biggest result of the year. For the TOP-3 at DreamLeague Season 10, Roya Never Give Up earned $35,000, which turned out to be the team's only income from prize money for the year.

Already in 2019, things went up and RNG became regular guests at the main tournaments. The “Kings” went to StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 1, where they took TOP-8, after which they repeated the result at OGA Dota PIT Minor 2019. In the same year, the bar was taken to TOP-12 at the first major in the club’s history: Royal Never Give Up took 9th-12th place at EPICENTER Major 2019.

In the same 2019, RNG went to The International for the first time. Consisting of Monet, Setsu, Flyby, LaNm and ah_fu, with Super in the position of coach, the team managed to reach the top 8 of the championship, which brought in the largest one-time win in the club's history - $858,252.

Dota 2 RNG managed to return to the main stage only after 3 years. On the way to The International 2022, the team experienced significant difficulties, often showing disproportionate results. In the period from 2020 to 2022, the best result was 2nd place at WePlay Bukovel Minor 2020.

At the end of 2021, Royal Never Give Up signed their most stellar lineup yet. In November, the team included Somnus`M, Chalice, xNova, and later the team was supplemented by kaka and Ghost.

The star five Royal Never Give Up brought the team TOP-2 at DPC CN 2021/2022 Tour 1: Regional Final, 4th at DPC CN 2021/2022 Tour 2: Regional Final and championship at DPC CN 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division 1.

In the same season, Royal Never Give Up played in the second The International tournament in the history of the club. The event in Singapore was remembered for RNG by the bitterness of defeat and the injustice that nothing could be done about: 4 out of 5 players fell ill with COVID-19 and, after a strong start in the Royal Never Give Up group stage, finished in 13-16th place.

Royal Never Give Up had a Royal youth division that lasted less than a year. During the operation, the best result was the victory at the RedRain Cup Season 2.

RNG in other disciplines

In addition to divisions in classic MOBA disciplines, Royal Never Give Up has had success in other esports games. One of these is PUBG.

Although the success of Royal Never Give Up on the international stage can hardly be called outstanding, they were frankly not bad in the local championships. The team won the Sharpshooter Cup Season 3, took 2nd place in the major Peacekeeper Elite Championship 2020 and won the Peace Elite Super Cup 2021: Squad.

In 2022, the RNG slot in the Asian league was bought out by KONE Esports. During the period of activity, the PUBG division brought in over $978,000 in RNG.

In addition to PUBG, RNGs have a stake in the Overwatch League. The team operates the Chengdu Hunters slot. The club plays under the auspices of the Overwatch League and has earned $325,000 in prize money throughout its history.

Prize money Royal Never Give Up

Over the entire history of its existence, Royal Never Give Up has established itself in the TOP-25 of the richest clubs in the history of esports. Their total earnings from tournaments amounted to 8,534,763 dollars.

The League of Legends division brought the team the most. The most profitable player is xiaohu from the RNG LoL team. Li Yuan Hao earned $706,960 for the club.
