Gen.G Esports completely disbanded Overwatch roster
The leadership of the Korean esports club surprised their fans with the sudden announcement of the termination of contracts with their Overwatch players. All eight players went downhill. Free agents Yoon 'Varipick' Beom-seo, Jeon 'TOPDRAGON' Seung-young, Lee 'Ade' Ji-hwan, Kim 'DOX' Jun-seo, Lee "ROXANNE" Dong-yoon, Kim 'Bliss' So-myung, Kim 'Papadog' Hyun-il and Lee 'LeeSooMin' Soo-min.
Where exactly the above-mentioned e-sportsmen will continue their careers is currently unknown. Most of them joined the team in September last year. This roster played in only one championship. The team played at TEN 2022 Overwatch Special Match #1. The prize fund of this event amounted to ~$4,100, and the entire prize fund then went to the winner represented by Talon Esports. Gen.G esports took 3rd-4th place out of 4 possible. They lost 1-3 to Talon Esports in the semifinals.

The management of Gen.G Esports thanked all the former members of the Overwatch roster for the work done and promised to support the players in their future. Management did not say what will happen next with the Overwatch division and whether the Korean organization will sign new players to participate in the next championships in this discipline. Gen.G Esports is a Korean esports organization founded in November 2018. For 3.5 years, the club's representatives managed to earn more than $140,000 in total.
