Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 likely to release on Steam
After Activision, and now Activision Blizzard, decided to leave the most popular digital game store and try to develop their own store, they realized that their sales had deteriorated. And now, after more than four years, Activison Blizzard decided to return to the playground from Valve. In his Twitter account, Steam retweeted a teaser for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
The next installment in the long-running Call of Duty series from developer Infinity Ward, previously confirmed as a sequel to Modern Warfare 2 (not to be confused with the 2009 game of the same name), will be released on October 28th. Activision Blizzard officially unveiled Modern Warfare 2 and its logo in April - after months of rumors and even an official announcement in February. The October launch of Modern Warfare 2, which Activision Blizzard hopes will help boost sales of Call of Duty, the 2019 sequel to Modern Warfare. In addition, Warzone 2, a spin-off of Battle Royal, will also be released with its release, promising a “groundbreaking innovation” later this year.

Perhaps the return of the CoD franchise to the shelves of Steam is due to the fact that Activison Blizzard will soon come under the strict control of Microsoft. We remind you that in January of this year, Microsft announced the purchase of Activision Blizzard, and the cost of the transaction amounted to a fabulous $68.7 billion. Driven by increased profits, Microsft Studios' gaming division CEO Phil Spencer was able to help with the decision.
The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28 on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox One. The release of Warzone 2 is scheduled for later this fall.
