Previously, the closest to this record was the legendary Faker, who, after 6 tournaments, missed the LoL World Championship in 2020 and could already attend his 8th World Championship in 2021.
Unlike Faker, Jensen did not perform as well in these tournaments and was mostly limited to 5th-8th and 9th-12th places. He spent the first 4 tournaments between 2015 and 2018 under the Cloud9 tag, and the next 3 under the Team Liquid tag. Now the player will again take part in the main LoL tournament under the Cloud9 tag.
Cloud9 secured themselves a trip to the 2022 World Championship after defeating Evil Geniuses in the upper bracket semi-finals. The team lost 1 map in the fight against their opponents and as a result defeated the opponents with a score of 3-1 and reached the top 3, where the teams provide themselves with a trip to the League of Legends World Championship. In the next match, in the final of the upper bracket, Cloud9 will compete with 100 Thieves.
Nikolay 'Jensen' Jensen started his career as a professional LoL player in 2012 under the Team Solo Mebdi tag. Later, he played for SK Gaming, and in 2015 he began to cooperate with Cloud9. Between 2018 and 2021, he played as part of Team Liquid. In February of this year, the collaboration between Jensen and Cloud9 was renewed.
