Developers from Frontier Developments talked to Elite Dangerous fans and talked about what to expect from the Odyssey update. So, they paid special attention to one of the key mechanics of future expansion - settlements.

Odyssey will have several types of so-called planetary outposts: active, abandoned, or at war. To capture an active settlement, you will have to try.

First of all, players will need to find a way to disable the outpost defense. Otherwise, capture can be very costly. Of course, you can resort to the complete destruction of the settlement, which, however, over time will begin to "revive".

It is also worth remembering that each settlement belongs to a specific faction. Depending on this accessory, the player will receive unique tasks and missions.

The release of the Odyssey update for Elite Dangerous should take place in late spring this year. Frontier Developments are planning to begin alpha testing the expansion soon.
