Is Killzone going to retire?

It seems that the cemetery of the gaming industry has replenished with another project. This is the shooter Killzone, from the developers of Horizon Guerilla Games.

Killzone is a series of shooters that Sony was betting on when it came out. However, as you can see, these rates were not justified. Recently, the developer, represented by Guerilla Games, closed the official site of the shooter. Those wishing to visit it will be redirected to PlayStation.com.

The game is still playable and servers are still supported. However, the closure of the site clearly indicates that in the near future Sony does not plan to develop the franchise, but will most likely focus on another creation of Guerilla Games - the Horizon series. The sequel to the successful RPG subtitled Forbidden West is due out on PlayStation by the end of 2021.
