Active production of the series based on The Last of Us has begun

Back in March 2020, HBO announced the start of production of The Last of Us series based on the game of the same name. Today it became known that after many months of waiting, the project entered the stage of active production.

The author of the acclaimed "Chernobyl" Craig Mazin will be in charge of the show. The creator of The Last of Us Neil Druckmann will help him in this difficult task. The HBO project will also be supported by Naughty Dog, Sony TV and PlayStation.

HBO is pleased with the creative ensemble of Mazin and Druckmann, calling them "visionaries with a unique vision." We are promised not just a retelling of the first part of the game, but also the potential expansion of the universe with a lot of touches on the continuation. When the series on The Last of Us will see the light of day - it is not clear. It is also unknown who will play the main roles.
