FBI Arrests Man for Luring Children via Fortnite in a Disturbing Online Scheme

The FBI, in collaboration with Ohio county sheriffs, has apprehended 27-year-old Nicholas Ranieri for allegedly luring underage boys using the video game Fortnite.

Reports indicate Ranieri engaged with his victims through Fortnite and other online games, offering them in-game items in exchange for participating in private Zoom calls of a sexual nature. During a search of Ranieri's residence, detectives confiscated gaming consoles, computers, and mobile phones.

Ranieri faces multiple charges, including the production and distribution of child pornography. Investigations also revealed that Ranieri had applied to establish a child care business in October of the previous year.

Currently, Ranieri is being held on a $125,000 bond in a county jail, with the investigation ongoing.
