A collaboration in music and art between Pokemon and Hatsune Miku has begun

The collaborative project, named "Project Voltage", will showcase 18 illustrations and 18 new musical compositions created through this partnership.

The main concept behind the project is to depict a scenario in which Hatsune Miku takes on the role of a Pokémon trainer of type X. Each of the illustrations and musical tracks will focus on different types of Pokémon.

The project will kick off with the release of 18 illustrations. These will be posted on the official Twitter page of "Project Voltage," one per day from Monday to Friday, until September 28th.

The first illustration is already available and portrays Hatsune Miku as a Pokémon trainer of the Psychic type, accompanied by the Pokémon Meloetta.

Following the completion of the illustration releases, the project will transition to the musical tracks. The first one will be unveiled on September 29th at 19:00 Japanese time (03:00 PT/ 06:00 ET/ 11:00 BST).

In total, there will be 18 tracks, each created by different vocaloid music producers. They will be released "over the next few months" and will be available on each artist's channels, as well as on the "Project Voltage" page.

According to information on the project's website, each track will share the common theme of "Pokémon with Hatsune Miku," and they will incorporate music and sound effects from past Pokémon games. However, it is noted that "each vocalist is free to come up with their own ideas for production" after this.
