A playable demake of Dead Space with a PlayStation 1-style aesthetic has surfaced on the internet

Frazer Bromley, an enthusiast, has recently unveiled a demake of Dead Space, which is available for free on the itch.io portal.

The fan has impressively recreated some of the main locations and core gameplay mechanics of the original game, such as the laser cutter's ability to dismember Necromorphs. The developer aimed to recreate the aesthetics of the original PlayStation and made the demake as a means of improving his skills using the Unreal Engine.

In January 2023, EA Motive released a remake of the first installment of the horror game. This updated version boasts improved graphics and sound, as well as updated mechanics. Additionally, the developers included an alternative ending in the game.
