The Proletariat employs 100 people. Previously, they were involved in the creation of Spellbreak, their own product, which was an unusual third-person battle royale using magic and vertical spaces for combat. At the beginning of 2023, the game servers will be permanently closed. Now the whole studio will be working on World of Warcraft content and will be working on the Dragonflight expansion, which is scheduled for release later this year.
The purchase of Proletariat is arguably the largest purchase by Blizzard, which aims to expand its staff to support the production of content for its games. Blizzard has decided to achieve its goals for quality and release dates by all means, and strengthening the studios in this way should contribute well to this.
Activision Blizzard teamed up Vicarious Visions and longtime Activision studio with Blizzard last January to work together on the Diablo franchise. Blizzard originated from the merger between Activision and Vivendi Games in 2008.
