Tyson "TenZ" Ngo was born on May 5, 2001. From an early age, Tyson was fond of computer games, which later grew into a profession.

He began his ascent to the eSports Olympus by playing Counter-Strike.

TenZ in CSGO - the beginning of a career

Tenz got into competitive CSGO in January 2017. Then the future eSports star played for the subtLe team.

As often happens with novice players, TenZ did not stay in the team for a long time. The decision to leave subtLe in May 2017 was facilitated by performance (TOP-16 at ECS Season 3 - NA Development League - Q1, TOP-20 at StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 3 and ESEA Season 24: Premier Division - North America with TOP-9), so and the desire to get everything at once, inherent in young and hot.

The next 2 years were similar to the player's debut. TenZ constantly changed teams, trying to find the right place.

Between August 2017 and January 2019 alone, TenZ changed 6 teams. The most “successful” of all was Neventic. Teaming up with impsta, Fighter, s0m and arya, Tyson won his prize money by entering the TOP-4 of the best teams in ESEA Season 25: Premier Division - North America, and a little later winning the miniature Strong Legs Cup #2.

In 2018, the Canadian had attempts to break into major events: IEM XII - World Championship through open American qualifiers and World Electronic Sports Games 2017, where, being a member of subtLe, the player failed all matches and was eliminated from the group.

Also in 2018, TenZ began to play actively in the FACEIT Pro League in North America. No special success was achieved there, and the thorny path at least to a stable TIR-2 continued.

It lasted exactly until the period when TenZ got into ATK. With this North American club, the Canadian managed to reach a more stable level.

The first successes of TenZ's career in CSGO - ATK, Cloud9 and the end of his career as a player

In May 2019, TenZ was called in to replace ATK. At the same time, the first hits in the high TOP at the championships came.

TenZ didn't have enough stars from the sky, but there were TOP-4 at Mythic Cup #3, WINNERS League - Season 2: North America Invite Division.

The performance was not high, but enough to break into Cloud9. However, it is possible that by getting into the top North American organization, Tyson should thank the monumental rearrangements that happened at the “clouds”. Whatever it was, TenZ got into Cloud9 July 2019 and actually immediately played at BLAST Pro Series: Los Angeles 2019 - the biggest tournament in his career.

On it, TenZ took fourth place, also a peak in the career of a caeser. Then Cloud9 lost to other, no less eminent counterparts and colleagues in the shop - the Team Liquid team.

Two months later, TenZ, along with teammates, competed at the Arctic Invitational 2019, where they lost to FURIA at the semi-final stage. The top 4 in the championship brought the club 11,000, which, in percentage terms, became the 2nd largest cash prize for a Canadian.

In October 2019, TenZ fired his last shot in the tournament for Cloud9. It was the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 10 - Americas, where the clouds ingloriously took the TOP-16 without winning a single match.

In 2020, TenZ made one last attempt to gain a foothold in CSGO. Spoiler: it was not successful.

Of the main results - TOP-6 at the closed qualifiers for Asia Minor Championship - Rio 2020 and TOP-12 at the qualifiers for ESEA Season 33: Premier Relegation. It couldn't go on like this, and TenZ understood this very well.

The Canadian found a strong-willed way out of this situation. In April 2020, TenZ is transitioning to Riot-backed competitive VALORANT. Looking ahead, it is worth noting that TenZ's act was of tremendous importance and became a key one both for the player on a personal level and for the entire North American competitive VALORANT scene.

TenZ's transition to VALORANT and becoming a world star

In mid-April, TenZ moves to VALORANT. Cloud9 became the first club to invite an undeveloped professional caeser to their place, having just opened a shooter division from Riot - Cloud9 Blue.

Unlike CSGO, where TenZ played literally three events as part of C9, he spent almost a year in VALORANT with clouds, and then only as a player. He later became the club's official streamer.

With Cloud9, TenZ played a tournament of various calibers on the set. The most successful are Immortals First Light, where C9 took 2nd place, Pulse Invitational, with a similar outcome, PAX Arena Invitational with a silver medal and Pop Flash with TOP-3.

After staying with Cloud9 Blue for just over a year, TenZ went inactive to later move to the Sentinels. This became a key moment in the player's career.

Sentinels TenZ and worldwide success

In March 2021, TenZ became a Sentinels player on loan. The club and TenZ approached each other so well that after 3 months the Canadian joined the “defenders” on a permanent basis.

TenZ's Sentinels debut was VCT 2021: North America Stage 1 Masters. The very first experience of playing within the North American VCT ecosystem brought TenZ the first, but not the last, major career victory.

In the finals of VCT 2021: North America Stage 1 Masters Sentinels defeated FaZe Clan 3-0, earning $60,000 for participating in the championship. There were more to come.

In April of the same year, the Sentinels won the VCT 2021: North America Stage 2 Challengers 2 and VCT 2021: North America Stage 2 Challengers Finals. At the first tournament, the Canadian beat his Alma Mater, Cloud9 Blue, overcoming them with a score of 3-0, and at the second tournament he left no traces of Version1, winning the final with a similar score.

Dominance in North America logically led Tyson to the first major tournament in his career. It was VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters - Reykjavik.

Being the main contenders for success, the Sentinels fully justified the pre-tournament quotes: in Iceland, the team knew no equal. VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters - Reykjavik Sentinels finished in first place on the podium, earning the title of champion and $200,000.

However, Tyson Ngo failed to end the year on a high note. In North America, the Sentinels continued to reign supreme by winning the VCT 2021: North America Stage 3 Challengers 1 and VCT 2021: North America Stage 3: Challengers Playoffs.

At the end of the year, the Sentinels had a difficult calendar - they had to play at the VCT 2021: Stage 3 Masters - Berlin, and then at the first VALORANT Champions 2022 World Championship. Both championships ended in tears for the Sentinels.

As part of the Berlin Masters, the Tyson team took 5-8th place, losing in the quarterfinals to Team Envy with a score of 0-2. At the World Cup, things went even worse.

As part of VALORANT Champions 2021, the team played only 3 games in the group stage, of which 2 were lost. For the first time in history, the club was not represented in the playoffs of a major esports event. For the first time in his career in VALORANT, TenZ took the TOP-12.

Stagnation and hope for a brighter future - Sentinels TenZ in 2022

The new year brought major roster changes and devastating results for the Sentinels. The team tried to recover from the failed majors at the end of 2021, but failed to do so.

The Sentinels finished in the Top 8 at VCT 2022: North America Stage 1 Challengers, Top 12 at VCT 2022: North America Stage 2 Challengers and Top 6 at VCT 2022: North America Last Chance Qualifiers, missing out on the main tournaments of the year hosted by Riot Games.

In the 2023 season, TenZ will continue to play as part of the VCT ecosystem as part of the Sentinels. The team has become a member of the partner league in North America, which means that Tyson will have time to return to the performance level of the first half of 2021.

Computer mice by TenZ

Tyson "TenZ" Ngo has reached the top of competitive VALORANT and is also a successful influencer. The Canadian Sentinels star actively participates in collaborations, enters into partnership agreements and in every possible way increases his presence outside the game.

One of the most successful projects of TenZ was the sale of computer mouse lines - Starlight Pro - TenZ. TenZ mice were created in collaboration with Finalmouse.

To put it mildly, the partnership turned out to be successful: in cooperation with the developer of computer peripherals, the Canadian eSports star sold 40,000 copies in a few hours. According to the Prodigy agency, with which TenZ cooperates, this was the most global iteration in eSports. TenZ's Starlight Pro - TenZ mouse campaign totaled $7,600,000.

Merch by TenZ

In addition to computer mice, the Canadian Sentinels star has his own line of merchandise. Clothing from TenZ is produced and sold under the label Project - T.

The e-sportsman's official store sells 7 items of outerwear: hoodies and T-shirts. Also in the assortment of TenZ's personal store, you can get acquainted with the e-sportsman's manga called Project - T.
