Valve Announces Rules for Resuming DPC 2021/2022 in Eastern Europe

Ця стаття доступна наступними мовами

According to the Sports portal, Valve has contacted the teams participating in the DPC 2021/2022 in Eastern Europe and called the conditions for the resumption of the championship.

It is reported that in order to resume the DPC 2021/2022 in Eastern Europe, the teams must provide guarantees to Valve on several points. First of all, the company needs confirmation that all squads will be able to play official matches at any time in the future. In addition, the leaders of esports organizations must ensure that players can obtain international visas so that they can play at the Spring Major in Stockholm. Thirdly, teams need to provide information confirming the ability to receive prize money from the organizers and transfer it to cybersportsmen.

At the same time, Valve believes that teams from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus in the current situation may have problems with the implementation of the above points. It is for this reason that the company does not plan to resume the DPC 2021/2022 in Eastern Europe, since the teams will not be able to fully participate in the matches or attend the Major in full force.

It is reported that Valve representatives asked each team to personally describe their current situation - after the information received, the company will decide whether it will be possible to resume the DPC 2021/2022 in Eastern Europe in the current format, or the organizers will have to look for new options for holding the championship. If one of the clubs does not send a letter to Valve, it will be considered that they cannot guarantee their participation.

In addition, Valve added that the company cannot conclude a contract with a new tournament operator that will host DPC 2021/2022 in Eastern Europe instead of Epic Esports Events until the exact dates and format of the championship are decided.

Recall that earlier Valve postponed the start of the second round of DPC 2021/2022 in Eastern Europe for an indefinite period. The event was supposed to start on March 14th.
