ESL has updated the rules for Counter-Strike 2 tournaments, now prohibiting coaches from being present on the game server
ESL has updated the rules for CS 2 tournaments, introducing changes to the regulations that are now available on the official website.
One of the key changes involves coaches. Due to the absence of dedicated slots for coaches in CS 2, they are now prohibited from accessing the game server during online tournaments. However, one member of the team is allowed to conduct a "private stream" of the match using the screen sharing function.

Another significant update pertains to tactical timeouts. Players are now allowed to use all three timeouts consecutively. If a match goes into additional rounds, any unused timeouts will be reset, and each team will be provided with one timeout. When transitioning into second and subsequent overtimes, teams will once again receive one timeout each.
The first major event in the world of CS 2 will be the IEM Sydney 2023 tournament, scheduled to take place from October 16th to 22nd in Australia. This tournament will feature the best teams in the world, including Cloud9, NAVI, and Team Vitality, with a total prize pool of $250,000.
