Ninjas In Pajamas won't consider CSPPA meddling in sticker dispute

Ця стаття доступна наступними мовами

According to Dexerto, the Swedish esports organization Ninjas in Pajamas is not going to consider CSPPA intervention in the sticker dispute. It seems that the club's management is not going to make concessions to their former and current players, refusing to properly investigate.

Recall that in May there was information that the club refuses to pay prize money for stickers to its players. Ninjas In Pajamas was then arguing with its former and current players regarding the money that the stickers for the canceled ESL One: Rio 2020 brought in. It is believed that capsule sales brought in about $300,000 per player, but the club's management considered that this time, since the club itself the event did not take place, it had the right to keep the money.

One of the affected players, nawwk, was not satisfied with this interpretation and explored the possibility of taking the matter further. When the CSPPA became aware of this, they volunteered to act on his behalf to try to resolve the financial dispute.

Sources with knowledge of the investigation said that the CSPPA has contacted Valve and asked them to clarify their position on the intentions behind the ESL One: Rio 2020 stickers.

They said it was just a blog post and that it was never meant to be a contract or legal document in any form.

The CSPPA eventually contacted Ninjas In Pajamas via email and explained that the Association believed that, after reviewing the contracts, the players were indeed entitled to a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the stickers. However, the Swedish club responded to the CSPPA that it was not going to heed the body's advice.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Ninjas In Pajamas has been embroiled in a dispute over sticker prize money. In 2015, the team lost $340,000 in sticker sales, causing then-CEO Per Lilliefelt to leave the organization. The allegations led WESA (World Esports Association), of which Ninjas In Pajamas was a founding member, to ask ESIC to investigate the organization's treatment of players.
