Rumors: Major Chinese organizations are interested in VALORANT
According to journalist Bo Hoogland, major Chinese esports organizations are interested in the opportunity to become part of the VALORANT scene. The news came shortly after local authorities approved the game 's release in print in 2023.
Clubs such as LGD Gaming, LNG Esports, Rare Atom, Top Esports, Bilibili Gaming, and Ultra Prime have reportedly shown interest in the competitive scene. Organizations are considering signing former KONE players, as well as professionals from Crossfire and OWL. However, the emergence of completely new teams, which will be assembled from amateur teams, is not ruled out.

Also in his message, the journalist noted that the Chinese organization FunPlus Phoenix has already announced the search for new players for the VALORANT roster. This either means they want to make changes to their current roster, or they are creating an entirely new roster. At the same time, the club already owns a team in China, which is listed as a youth squad.
However, the news is a good wake-up call for tournament organizers, who can actively start creating full-fledged ecosystems for Chinese teams and build a full-fledged scene. Probably the next message will appear at the beginning of the next calendar year.
There are currently a meager number of VALORANT tournaments being organized in China. However, last season, a good EDward Gaming team appeared on the scene, taking part in the VALORANT Champions 2022 tournament.
