Cloud9 Takes G2 Esports' Place in Affiliate League After Andrew Tate Scandal
During a recent live stream by HiKo, content creator for the 100 Thieves club, Rod Breslau stated that North American esports organization Cloud9 has taken the place of G2 Esports in the American affiliate league. Then it was said that this decision by Riot Games was directly related to the scandal involving Carlos Rodriguez.
I found out that Cloud9 was actually the last team on the list. A very good source tells me that Cloud9 replaced G2 Esports, not Evil Geniuses. Evil Geniuses was already part of the partnership lineup. That's when Carlos screwed up and Cloud9 stepped in.
On a stream in which they played VALORANT together, Breslau claimed that Cloud9 was the last team to make it to the partner league for America. The North American organization replaced G2 Esports, which was reportedly turned down after former CEO Carlos Rodriguez posted a video of him having fun with Andrew Tate, he said.
A few days after the video was released, it was reported that G2 Esports had lost their place in the league due to the video and the aftermath. Carlos was then sent on unpaid leave by a European club before eventually stepping down from his post.
