Riot Games has officially unveiled the updated format for the next VALORANT VCT 2023 competitive season. The developers talked about all the changes that await professional teams and their fans next year. International leagues, the future of the competitive scene, intermediate courses, off-season - we tell you the details.
VALORANT is growing in popularity around the world, which means that our competitions should become bigger. Today we want to share our plans for the development of eSports. In 2023, we will host an updated VCT with new leagues, international competitions and partners. We want to give you new experiences, support new talent, and put on more spectacular shows that will keep players and audiences entertained for years to come.
The next season will open the largest international tournament in the history of the VCT, where all 30 partner teams from Europe, America and Asia will take part. The venue of the tournament is Sao Paulo, Brazil. It is reported that the starting tournament of the season will replace the usual split. The championship will last 3 weeks, while the winner will receive a slot to participate in the Masters.
After the completion of the kick-off tournament, the three international leagues will start in March and last for eight weeks. The winners will be determined in May, that is, a month before the start of the Masters.

In June, the Masters tournament will begin with the best teams from all international leagues. According to the results of the second international tournament of the year, the best teams in each region will immediately receive the right to play in Champions. Teams will also compete for Champions spots through regional Last Chance events in July.
Three new Ascension tournaments will take place next year, one in each of the three major international league regions. These tournaments will feature top teams from over twenty Challenger leagues. Dozens of teams will fight in LAN matches for the honor of the region and the opportunity to advance to international leagues.
Starting in 2024, each season will be divided into two splits, and in 2023 there will be one split, followed by the largest international tournament in the history of VALORANT with the participation of all partner teams. International league matches will be played on LAN in the presence of spectators for several weeks.
