VRL 2022 East: Surge Stage 1 Invitation List Revealed

Riot Games has partnered with FRENZY to announce the invite list for the upcoming VRL 2022 East: Surge Stage 1. The invited teams will be AWARIA, Anorthosis Esports, KTRL, Straight Outta Retirement and need more DM.

Since VRL 2022 East covers several Eastern European countries, the organizers decided to invite one of the best teams from Poland, Greece, Romania, the Czech Republic and Hungary. These five teams will be joined by three teams from the open qualifier, which will be held from 26 to 28 January.

VRL 2022 East: Surge Stage 1 will kick off with a group stage that will be played in a group format. From here, the top four teams will advance to the playoffs, where they will compete for one ticket to the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: EMEA Promotion Tournament.

From Poland, the invitation was received by the AWARIA team, which previously represented the colors of the PACT organization. Among the Greek teams, the organizers singled out Anorthosis Esports, while KTRL will represent Romania at the tournament. The invitation from the Czech Republic went to the Straight Outta Retirement team, while Hungary will be represented by need more DM.

Note that the following teams are participating in the open qualifier: Team Finest, l3wandowski, BalkanStars, iPon Esport, Kum Gaming, XYZ, Anonymo Esports and NOM eSports.

VRL 2022 East: Surge Stage 1 will run from February 16 to March 20 online. Eight teams from Eastern Europe will compete for one ticket to the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: EMEA Promotion Tournament.
