The Pokémon Company donated 50 million Japanese yen to aid those affected by the aftermath of the earthquake

On January 1st of this year, the country experienced a 7.6 magnitude earthquake that devastated numerous neighborhoods and claimed the lives of at least 92 people.

This earthquake also triggered a small tsunami, flooding at least 296 acres of land, according to information from Japan's Ministry of Land.

As reported by Kyodo news agency, by Friday, Japan's Self-Defense Forces had doubled the number of troops involved in rescue operations to 4,600 individuals.

The Pokémon Company announced yesterday that it would support efforts to assist those affected by the disaster.

"We express our deepest condolences to those affected by the January 1, 2024 earthquake on the Noto Peninsula," the statement reads.

"The Pokémon Company has decided to donate 50 million yen to the Japanese Red Cross Society and provide financial support to organizations to aid the affected and help rebuild the devastated areas.
