Webedia and Digital Bank Digio Launch Tournament in Brazil

The Brazilian subsidiary of the French web-holding Webedia has launched a Hearthstone tournament sponsored by digital bank Digio. The Digio Desafio Hearthstone Challenge will feature 8 invited professional players who will compete for a prize pool of $ 3,500.

Webedia will be streaming the tournament across Facebook, YouTube and Twitch platforms, as well as its esports website. Tournament participants will also be able to broadcast matches live on their personal broadcasts. Hearthstone was chosen as the game, according to Webedia, because of its popularity in Brazil, as opposed to the small amount of content produced for it in the country.

According to Webedia's forecasts, the event will feature a hands-on experience of engaging the audience with a sponsor during the event. Digio is a brand created in partnership between Bradesco and Banco do Brasil, the two main traditional banks in Brazil. The parties also invested in the Bradesco brand, which recently partnered with the Brazilian organization Fluxo. Digio looks forward to establishing a long-term relationship with the gaming community.
