NVIDIA claims it is impossible to break the limit for the GeForce RTX 3060
Nvidia is putting down the gauntlet for code-savvy miners as it claims its cryptocurrency hash rate limiter on the upcoming GeForce RTX 3060 12GB graphics card - which is used in software, not hardware - is unbreakable. NVIDIA representatives spoke about this in a comment for the PC Gamer portal.
It is reported that the new limiter will halve the RTX 3060 hashrate when certain parts of the Ethereum mining algorithm are detected. The hope for NVIDIA and gamers around the world is that the lock won't be hacked and the world will see these cards make their way to gamers. Miners may then turn to mining-specific CMPs or processors for mining cryptocurrencies for help.

NVIDIA has announced a two-fold performance limitation when mining cryptocurrencies on the RTX 3060. The limit will be enabled programmatically after detecting activation of the mining algorithm. The company also developed the CMP HX processor, which is specifically designed for mining. Devices based on it will go on sale in the first quarter of 2021, and its improved version of this GPU will be released in the second quarter.
Recall that the release of the GeForce RTX 3060 is scheduled for February 25, 2021. The recommended price for the GeForce RTX 3060 12GB is $ 329.99.
