What is the state of Psychonauts 2?

On the eve of the New Year, Studio Double Fine decided to share with the community the details of the production of Psychonauts 2. For this they are a full-fledged video chat for 9 minutes.

Based on the report, it can be understood that the game is almost ready for release. According to Tim Schafer, over the past few weeks, the developers have been implementing missing cut-scenes, making a list of names for titles and other "small" details.

Also in the report, there was a place for other details regarding the development of Psychonauts 2. From the video we learn that the developers had to remove some content, since it is not ethical to make fans wait longer. On top of that, the studio has painful memories of reworking during the production of the first game, which is why they are now sensitive to the crunch issue.

The full release of Psychonauts 2 is scheduled for 2021. There is no exact release date, but it is known that in January will begin an enhanced "polish" of the project.
