Horror-Movie Bug Unleashed by Cyberpunk 2077's 2.0 Update Startles Players

A Cyberpunk 2077 player encountered a bizarre bug that resembled a scene straight out of a horror movie, and it seems to be linked to the game's 2.0 update released on September 21.

Cyberpunk 2077's 2.0 update aimed to enhance enemy AI, making them smarter and more challenging. This resulted in NPCs displaying improved self-preservation instincts, such as seeking cover, retreating when severely wounded, and attempting to dodge explosives.

On Reddit, user DragonSych shared their experience with a bug that made certain enemies unusually adept at avoiding explosions. In a peculiar incident, they tossed a grenade at a group of Scavengers, only to witness one of them dash towards them at an incredible speed, completely evading the explosion. While the player's dramatic editing made the video seem like a horror movie moment, the actual experience was quite unnerving.

Some players speculated that the speedy Scavenger might have used Cyberpunk 2077's Sandevistans, a time-slowing ability available to hostile NPCs in the 2.0 version of the game. However, not everyone agreed with this assessment, as the sudden transition from crouching to sprinting raised suspicions that this reaction to a grenade might not have been an intentional game mechanic.

If this is indeed a bug, CD Projekt Red is likely to address it in future updates. While the 2.0 update was expected to be the final major free patch for Cyberpunk 2077, the developer has a history of releasing multiple hotfixes to address issues that may have been overlooked during development.
