Twitch will give the opportunity for more earnings to streamers

A few months ago, Twitch introduced the Ads Manager tool and the Ads Incentive (AIP) program. Twitch wanted to simplify ad management and test a method that would help creators more reliably generate ad revenue. With so many positive reviews from authors, we are doing even more.

What is an Ad Incentive Program?

The essence of the Ads Incentive (AIP) program is simple: every month the creator receives an offer. If they broadcast a certain number of hours in that month with a certain ad density, they will receive a pre-determined payout. Let Ads Manager handle your ads and you'll be paid at the end of the month.

What is an update?

The program has helped creators generate reliable income, so we're throwing open the doors and having an AIP party (metaphorically). Here's what's changing:

Today, Twitch is opening up the program to more partners than ever before.

Increased pay rate. Traditionally, Twitch has calculated ad revenue for creators at a fixed CPM—a flat rate for every 1,000 ad views on their channel. To increase ad payouts and ensure that the streaming platform can pass on price increases to creators, Twitch is moving away from the fixed CPM structure and moving towards a percentage-based revenue share model. This new model pays creators 55% of the revenue for every ad shown in their stream. This change represents a 50-150% increase in ad fees for the vast majority of creators on Twitch.

What about branches?

Good news awaits partners in August. The 55% also applies to partners: not only AIP users get a higher share of turnover, but also qualified partners. Starting in August, simply set Ads Manager to three minutes (or more) per hour. That's it, that's the end of the list. After you do this, you qualify and receive 55% of the ad revenue in your payouts. Partners who agree to three minutes per hour receive the right to stream without pre-rolls and receive higher ad payouts, but these are for pre-rolls.

Twitch wants to make advertising easier and more profitable, and they hope this update will bring them closer to that goal. Twitch Partners can go to the Ads Manager section of their dashboard to see their offers. While partners will have to wait until August, you can set up ad density in Ads Manager right now to be ready. This program is just the beginning, the developers will continue to work on improving the Creator experience.

As part of this launch, we want to make a few things clear: AIP is optional: you can sign up when the monthly offers become available, and you can opt out at any time.

You will not receive less advertising revenue through AIP: We will not pay any Creator less ad money for participating in the Ad Incentive Program. If we determine that your AIP offer pays out less than what you would earn from serving ads outside of the program, we will pay you a higher amount.

We're here to help: your AM and partner help is always ready to answer questions about your ad payouts. Payment will be made on a net basis, i.e. revenue minus invoices and other costs and fees paid for the provision of the Twitch Services; taxes, returns, refunds, chargebacks, discounts and credits. We took CPMs and average CPMs during 2021 to estimate bids for an equivalent revenue share model. Advertising revenue depends on many factors such as audience size, ad accessibility, language and geography, time of year, and so on.
