Hitman III will be supported by developers in 2022

The Danish studio IO Interactive said that it is not going to abandon its title, which was released as the last in the Hitman series. The developers have promised users new game modes and story missions. Players will also be able to play on new maps.

According to IO Interactive, the title will now feature an arcade mode in which players can compete in the hunt for some “Elusive Targets”. What will be the peculiarity of this arcade mode and how it will differ from the classic ones is not clear at the moment. More information about the game IO Interactive will tell later.

Other attributes of the game will not remain unchanged either. The graphical component in Hitman III will also need to acquire innovations. Now the title will have to appear ray tracing technology, and the owners of PlayStation VR will be able to try the game, experiencing new sensations. The developers have provided for the addition of a virtual reality mode for versions of the game on consoles from Sony.

A major update in Hitman III will take place next spring. IO Interactive will provide details at a later date.

Hakan Abrak, CEO of Danish studio IO Interactive, admitted that the restart of the Hitman series in 2016 and the entire trilogy is the biggest financial success in the entire history of the Hitman franchise. At the moment, the total number of Hitman players exceeds 50,000,000 people. In this regard, the Danish company has prepared several surprises for the players. According to Hakan Abrak, the innovations will have to please the community, as the players have been waiting for a long time for what will appear in games in the spring of next year.

The last part of Hitman appeared on January 20, 2021 on all current platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, as well as Xbox Series X/S. The title received, in most cases, laudatory reviews from both game journalists and ordinary players. On the main aggregator of reviews, Metacritic, journalists rated the game at 87 points out of 100 possible, while the players gave a more modest rating - 7.5 out of 10.
