The backdrop to this move includes various organizations reevaluating their involvement in the game after the announcement of the EA Sports FC Pro esports circuit. This new circuit appears to favor traditional football clubs over esports organizations. The context for these changes also involves EA's separation from FIFA to establish its own EA FC video game brand.

At just 22 years old, Tekkz has joined City Esports for the 2023/24 season, accompanied by Matias 'Matias' Bonanno, an Argentinian player who recently signed with the team. Their performances will be guided by Spanish coach Edu Castellano.

The EA FC Pro account officially recognized Tekkz's achievements, including his impressive record of 11 tournament wins.

Before his time with Fnatic, Tekkz embarked on his career in 2018 at the age of 16 with The F2. He quickly made a name for himself by winning the 2018 FUT Champions Cup in Spain. In 2019, he claimed the ePremier League title while representing Liverpool.

This news arrives less than two months after Manchester City released their previous UK FIFA players, Shellzz and Ryan Pessoa.

Tekkz expressed his enthusiasm for joining Manchester City's Esports team and is eager to see what he and Matias can achieve in the upcoming ePremier League season. He believes that their playing styles complement each other well, making them strong contenders for multiple titles. Tekkz's immediate goal is to secure another ePremier League title, with the aspiration of ultimately winning the EA FC World Championship. He emphasized that the World Cup remains his primary objective, and he understands that his path to the World Cup starts with achievements in the ePremier League.

This move signifies a significant development in the world of FIFA esports, as top players align themselves with football clubs in pursuit of greater recognition and success.
