Riot Games expands agreement with Verizon
Verizon is announcing a significant expansion of its sponsorship deal with Riot Games.
The terms of the contract were not disclosed, but Verizon will be featured in multiple disciplines and events. The telecom giant is becoming an official partner of both League of Legends and VALORANT, which debuted last year and is now building a global esports ecosystem around it.

Verizon entered the League of Legends space last year when it began sponsoring LCS North American under a three-year contract, as well as the Wild Rift Mobile Championship. The new course now includes North American rights to major world events. In the case of League of Legends, the expansion of the agreement includes support for the Mid-Season Invitational, World Championship, and All-Star Event. In the case of VALORANT, VALORANT Champions Tour and VALORANT North America Challengers.
As part of the renewed deal, Riot is committed to hosting the Mid-Season Invitational and VALORANT Champions Tour in Reykjavik, Iceland in May.
Verizon has been ramping up its gaming presence in the past couple of years as it also has a partnership with the esports organization Dignitas, which is owned by Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment.
