Chinese authorities have developed professional qualification standards for esports athletes
China's Ministry of Labor and Social Security has unveiled professional qualification standards for esports players and six other emerging professions. The standards for esports players clarify professional activities and knowledge levels and are expected to help improve professional training and assessment of skills in this area, the ministry said.
China's Ministry of Labor expects the standards to improve training and skill assessment in this area. In 2020, China counted 488 million cybersportsmen, which is 9.65% more than in 2019. The data is provided by the China Audio, Video and Digital Publishing Association's Game Publishing Working Committee and the China Game Development Research Institute in a joint report.
