Sector One closes due to financial problems

The Belgian esports organization Sector One has announced its retirement from the scene and the closure of all of its rosters. The club explained its decision by the presence of financial problems and the lack of proper funding from outside to support the teams.

Dear fans, we know how much you enjoy our content and news and look forward to it, and we're sorry that we haven't been able to provide it to you lately. 2022 marked an unprecedented success for our organization, which has grown into one of the most innovative projects in our region. Unfortunately, maintaining the high standards and expectations we have set does not seem possible in the current ecosystem, where ROI and cash flow are insufficient.

Therefore, we are sad to announce the indefinite cessation of our esports activities, both regionally and internationally. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the players and friends who have passed through Sector One for their faith in our project during this time.

We regret having to take this step and thank our fans for their endless support and understanding.

Sector One has been on the scene since 2014. For eight and a half years, the Belgian club has assembled CS:GO, VALORANT, Hearthstone, League of Legends, Rocket League and Rainbow Six rosters.

At the same time, the Sector One VALORANT roster was quite successful locally, managing to win the VALORANT Regional Leagues 2022 France: Revolution Stage 1. Now the club is saying goodbye to all teams and leaving the stage.

Over the past few months, esports has lost a number of well-known organizations that, to varying degrees, have faced underfunding. Among them, it is worth noting ORDER, eUnited, cowana Gaming and Team Finest. In addition, at the end of last year, another organization from the Benelux, LowLandLions, left the scene.
