According to representatives of HAVU Gaming, car simulator is one of the most interesting subgenres of eSports. The reason for this was the combination of intellectual and physical abilities of the players. Thus, both adherents of digital racing and fans of real ones remain satisfied. Simulation tournaments are attended not only by fans of computer games, but also by professional racers who have made a career in the world of competitive driving. Thus, the autosim genre is a great opportunity for talented racers to try themselves in this field without making big investments and compete with professional racers. During the COVID-19 pandemic and worldwide quarantine, this genre has received a new breath and gained a lot of popularity for obvious reasons. HAVU is on a mission to make the driving simulator genre even more popular and bring more attention to the opportunity to take part in real racing without making a big investment.

Comment from new HAVU SimRacing player and co-founder of Inertia SimRacing Simo Rautavirta:

Over the past few years, the Sim Racing genre has made a huge leap forward, which means that the teams have had to evolve too. The inertia reached the point where we needed to take the next step towards professionalism, otherwise our competitors would overtake us. Esports is a full-time job and Inertia as an organization couldn't keep their drivers up to the level required to compete in the biggest tournaments. We talked about running our own organization and negotiating with existing organizations. In the end, we were able to reach an agreement with HAVU on several fronts and decided to stick together. HAVU's values and attitude towards how they work are aligned with those of Inertia and there is synergy in many areas. It's obviously bittersweet to give up your own brand, but sometimes you have to leave something good behind in order to achieve something even greater.

Our first major HAVU competition is Digital Racing eSM 2022, which will take place on July 2 in Salo. Matias Vitikainen is looking forward to his first championship after finishing second last year, while Matti Kaidesoja has set his sights on a 3rd Finnish championship. Matthias and Matti are accompanied by Henry Salmen, who also took a big step towards the top of Finland.

What is the sim racing genre? The user must acquire a full-fledged controller that conveys the full feeling of driving a car and install one of the suitable car simulators on the computer. Sim racing tournament organizers use simulators such as RFactor2, IRacing, RaceRoom Racing Experience, Assetto Corsa and others. For good visibility, riders use three monitors, which improves riders' immersion in the race process. They can also get an expensive so-called motion simulator, which makes the immersion in the process of riding as realistic as possible due to hydraulic motors that lift the rider during the ride and simulate the process of braking or accelerating. True, such a pleasure is quite expensive and can cost the cost of a good car. For example, on the official website of the manufacturer of such sim racing cabs RSeat, the cheapest version of the motion simulator is €12,000.
