ESL FACEIT Group is the first tournament operator by capitalization
Analytical portal Esports Charts has provided another statistical report, in which it evaluated tournament operators by their capitalization. ESL FACEIT Group, whose value is estimated at $1.5 billion, became the undisputed leader. Recall that in January, Savvy Gaming Group, sponsored by a Saudi Arabian investment fund, announced the acquisition of ESL and FACEIT.
Organizing esports tournaments has become much more difficult, both logistically and financially, since the start of the pandemic. And while some organizers are leaving the market, others are adapting to new conditions: some are switching to an online format (but not sacrificing the number and level of competitions), others are finding ways to hold events with a live audience even in such difficult times. And this accordingly affects their market price.
The second most valuable tournament operator is PGL, which is estimated at $540.5 million. It should be noted that the organizer is currently producing PGL Major Antwerp 2022, and held The International 2021 last year.
The third place went to the Danish tournament operator BLAST, whose capitalization reaches $314 million. The organizer is best known for the BLAST Premier series of CS:GO championships.
