Dendi Optimistic About Dota 2's Future Amid DPC System Overhaul
The founder of B8, Danil "Dendi" Ishutin, has shared his thoughts on the cancellation of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit (DPC) tournament system. The Ukrainian esports athlete is hopeful that this change in strategy will have a positive impact on the professional scene and contribute to the game's better development.
"The DPC system was slow and tedious, even though it was a good practice for us. Removing it will make room for a large number of tournaments. In the long run, this should be a good change for the development of Dota 2. Hopefully Valve will popularize the game in North America. I love Dota." - Danil "Dendi" Ishutin.
Earlier, Valve decided to terminate the DPC seasons, citing that such a system had led to a decline in the competitive scene, with tournament organizers being burdened by a long list of stringent requirements. Developers will share details about the upcoming season in 2024.
