Dota 2 found a bug that allows you to avoid losing MMR when you lose
Dota 2 players have discovered a bug that allows them to avoid losing MMR when they lose. Its essence lies in the use of Linken's Sphere. We previously wrote that Perfect World is accusing the Knights of using a map hack .
Janne 'Gorgc' Stefanovski, during one of the long matches that lasted over 70 minutes, met a teammate who said that he needed to ruin the game in order not to lose MMR. The Team Bald Reborn player refused and urged his teammates to continue their resistance.
Безкоштовні дорогоцінні камені, а також щоденні, щотижневі та щомісячні бонуси!
But then an ally bought a Linken's Sphere, used it on an ally, and sold the item itself. The opponent used a targeted ability on the orb's effect, causing the match to crash. The reason is that the server can't find the source of Linken's Sphere's effect because the item is no longer on the map. After a match crashes, players do not lose MMR.
The reigning World Champion, Tundra Esports player Wu 'Sneyking' Jingjun also experienced this bug, tweeting about it:
Just met Doom, who went into the forest in the second minute, saying that the game was already lost. Farmed Hand of Midas, sold all my inventory to buy Linken's Sphere to crash the game and it didn't count. MMR is preserved.
The bug also prevents people from earning MMR because the game doesn't count. This is reported by Kirill 'Sunlight' Kachinsky, playing for Wildcard Gaming. He wrote the following:
So the bug is still not fixed. Yesterday I had 2 games where I literally already finished off the throne, and the enemy did this trick with Linken's Sphere. +60 Rip.
Valve should fix this bug soon as it directly prevents people from playing their favorite esports discipline.
