Grayhound Disbands: Australian CS:GO Squad Seeks New Beginnings After Major Setback

Ця стаття доступна наступними мовами

Grayhound, a notable presence in the esports arena, has announced the cessation of its operations, prompting its Australian CS:GO team to seek a new organization. This development follows closely on the heels of the team's unsuccessful bid to qualify for the PGL Major Copenhagen, where they finished third at the Asia RMR.

Through a statement on X/Twitter by the team's In-Game Leader (IGL), Christopher "dexter" Nong, it was made clear that the squad is determined to stick together and is actively looking for a regional organization to join. Dexter emphasized the team's upcoming engagements, including participation in IEM Chengdu, the ESL Pro League, and IEM Dallas, showcasing their continued relevance in competitive play.

Grayhound made its foray into CS:GO in 2017, acquiring the roster from Immunity, which included players such as Erdenetsogt "erkaSt" Gantulga and Sean "Gratisfaction" Kaiwai. The team gained prominence, especially in 2019, by securing a spot at the IEM Katowice Major. Despite a commendable performance against Vitality, they concluded the event without a win.

The organization briefly exited the CS:GO scene in late 2019 when their roster transitioned to Renegades but made a comeback in late 2022 by taking on the ORDER lineup, which was available due to ORDER's bankruptcy. This move allowed Grayhound to feature in two additional Majors, both times ending their journey in the Challengers Stage.

The former Grayhound roster includes:

  • Christopher "dexter" Nong (Australia)
  • Alistair "aliStair" Johnston (Australia)
  • Jay "Liazz" Tregillgas (Australia)
  • Joshua "INS" Potter (Australia)
  • Declan "Vexite" Portelli (Australia)
  • Erdenetsogt "erkaSt" Gantulga (Mongolia)

This lineup, with a mix of Australian and Mongolian talent, is on the lookout for a new organization to represent as they aim to continue their journey in the competitive CS:GO scene.
