Rumors: The future of IHC Esports is in limbo

According to Dexerto, the future of the Mongolian esports organization IHC Esports is in limbo. A number of people associated with the professional club have reportedly been arrested as a result of the crypto market scandal.

The story comes from the publication of the UB Post newspaper, which on February 3 announced the arrest of the founders of IHC Esports after complaints from a number of clients who purchased the company's crypto token. As a result, they were charged with misappropriation of funds and money laundering. Among the people detained in the scandal was Munkhjin Otgonbaatar, who is also considered the financial director of the esports club.

The IHC Esports organization was born at the end of 2021, when the owners of the IHBIT Global platform entered into a deal with the Mongolian club ZEUS Esports, which was renamed IHC Esports as a result. A few months later, in March 2022, the organization signed the strongest roster of Mongolia - Checkmate.

Over the past year, the team has become the winner of PGL Major Antwerp 2022: Asia-Pacific RMR and Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio 2022: Asia-Pacific RMR, and also reached the final at ESL Challenger League Season 41: Asia-Pacific, Jig Jug National Championship 2022, Perfect World Arena Premier League Season 2, ESL Challenger League Season 42: Asia-Pacific, IESF World Esports Championship 2022 and ESL Challenger League Season 43: Asia-Pacific.

In addition, the team took part in the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major 2022, surprising everyone in the current Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023 by defeating paiN Gaming, FURIA and Cloud9.
