MAJ3R is ending his career as a pro player. A year ago, he left for VALORANT, but returned six months later

MAJ3R has announced his retirement as a professional esportsman in CS:GO. It is noteworthy that a year ago, the 31-year-old Turkish player left the scene in VALORANT, but returned last summer to become the captain of Eternal Fire. The legendary cybersportsman announced his decision on Twitter.

Farewell. I started playing CS in 2005 and until today I have always played. For me, this is the end, but as a player. Thanks to everyone for the good memories, thanks to the French people at the beginning of my career where I spent my best years, and thanks to the Turkish people where I ended it. Maybe we will meet again together, but already outside the role of the player.

I had several offers to continue my career as a player and coach, but these options are not optimal for me now. I'm not ready to be a coach yet. I will continue my career in VALORANT, where I played for 6 months and I still want to do something there.

I know that I can use all my experience that I got in CS into VALORANT and do great things. I had a similar feeling when I played VALORANT 1 year ago. For me, this will be a new test as a captain.

Thank you CS:GO for what you have given me in my life, I have never won a lot of money but you have given me more. You gave me the opportunity to my wife (whom I met through CS) to travel a lot, to see many places in many countries. You bring back so many memories to me in 16 years. Thanks to everyone who took part in my journey. If I have shown disrespect to anyone, I apologize.

MAJ3R has been performing on the professional stage for over 15 years. During this time, he managed to win several big tournaments, including WESG 2016 Middle East & Africa Finals, ESEA Season 25: Global Challenge, Europe Minor Championship - Boston 2018 and DreamHack Open Austin 2018.

Note that last year MAJ3R already left for VALORANT, where he tried his hand at Digital Athletics. However, last summer the 33-year-old Turkish esportsman returned to CS:GO and joined Eternal Fire. However, after a failed performance at Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio 2022: European RMR A, he was shown the door.

According to MAJ3R himself, in November he will start streaming VALORANT to get in shape and try his hand at the team.
