maLeK returns to Evil Geniuses as a strategy coach

North American esports organization Evil Geniuses has announced the appointment of maLeK to the position of strategy coach. The 36-year-old French specialist will work with all three squads of the club, sharing with them his experience and knowledge gained during his coaching career.

maLeK made a name for himself as the head coach of G2 Esports, where he worked for three years. Together with the French team, the specialist won the Champions Cup Finals, and also reached the finals at Intel Extreme Masters XIV - World Championship, Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Cologne and PGL Major Stockholm 2021.

However, at the end of last year, the 36-year-old left the team to later lead the Evil Geniuses. In five months of working with the team, maLeK did not achieve any significant results, nor did he manage to get to PGL Major Antwerp 2022. As a result, back in May, the organization announced that they were parting ways with the coach, who, as it became known later, had a serious conflict with Stewie2K.

And yet time put everything in its place. While the organization withdrew the services of their captain, Evil Geniuses decided to reinvent themselves and appoint Vorborg as the new head coach. Hepa also returned to help him, who first joined the roster in December 2021 along with maLeK.

The nearest championship for the North American team will be ESL Pro League Season 16. In addition, one of the club's three rosters competes at ESL Challenger League Season 42: North America.
