CS:GO will switch to Source 2?

On the Twitter account of a well-known CS:GO insider Gabe Follower, information appeared that shooter fans are independently transferring the game to the updated engine from Valve. The latter, as far as we know, do not support this process in any way, and the transfer is carried out exclusively by fan efforts.

Gabe Follower also attached a video of the most interesting moments of the gameplay. In the video, you can see how the process, unlike Source 1, goes more smoothly. The animations are of course far from ideal, however, nevertheless, they look interesting and it is noticeable that, while crouching, the character looks different.

Rumors about the transition of one of the main shooter esports disciplines of our time to a new engine appeared quite a long time ago and periodically continue to storm the Internet.

Valve, in turn, does not give any comments yet and does not contribute in any way to transferring the game to Source 2. On the other hand, knowing how the game developers behave, Valve can simply silently transfer CS:GO to Source 2 and then make a sudden announcement.

We also remember such cases when Valve, thanks to fan works, began to do something of their own. Russian-language voice acting and Dota Autochess are the first to come to mind. In the first case, Strategic Music began their own work on the Russian localization of Dota 2 and their representative even visited the office to try to negotiate a cooperation. Valve ignored the request and began work on such a project with their own hands. In the case of Dota Autochess, Valve was inspired by a custom modification that turned Dota 2 into chess and patented their product.

Thus, we can conclude that after Valve sees how fans are trying to transfer CS:GO on their own, they themselves will catch on to this matter and after some time will please fans of this shooter.
