GODSENT disbands youth CS:GO roster

The Swedish eSports organization GODSENT has decided to disband the CS:GO youth roster. At the same time, the Brazilian team withdrew from WePlay Academy League Season 5, taking the final last place. All players except venomzera will continue to play together under a different tag. The roster left the organization due to the transfer of a 17-year-old cybersportsman to the Paquetá camp.

The problems of Young Gods began long before the start of the new WePlay Academy League season. As it turned out, venomzera did not go to Europe with the team, which, according to rumors, accepted an offer from another organization and initially planned to leave the roster. As a result, the Brazilian team did not have time to find a fifth player before the start of the WePlay Academy League Season 5 group stage, having suffered technical defeats in the first rounds of the competition.

However, the day before, the organization issued an official statement on the situation, promising to provide more information in the near future. According to Henrik Denebrandt, CEO of GODSENT, the organization made an attempt to introduce a new team to participate in the youth league, but WePlay rejected this decision.

The club's CEO also hinted at a realignment of the CS:GO division as a reason for parting ways with Young Gods, stating that the organization plans to coordinate its academy and core teams for "maximum impact". He then revealed that the organization plans to acquire a new core roster soon and "some interesting opportunities" are being considered.

Recall that GODSENT gathered a youth team at the end of last year. In seven months, the Brazilian team became the winner of ESEA Cash Cup: South America - Winter 2022 #1 and ESEA Cash Cup: South America - Spring 2022 #1, and also got into the TOP-10 at WePlay Academy League Season 4.

WePlay Academy League Season 5 runs from July 25 to August 14 online. As part of the championship, fourteen youth teams from Europe, the CIS, Turkey and South America compete for a prize pool of $100,000.
