Evil Geniuses CEO: "Tomorrow I may well buy a top roster, but that doesn't mean I can make it work"

Nicole Jameson, CEO of the North American esports organization Evil Geniuses, shared her opinion on the current state of the CS:GO division in an interview with The Washington Post. According to the American, the club has a completely different approach, aimed at the long term, and not momentary benefits.

Tomorrow I may well buy a top composition, but this does not mean that I can make it work. Acquiring a team is a matter of money. We figure out how to build good workflows within the CS:GO division. It will be a long way.

Our organization has a different approach to planning and evaluating prospects. We don't think about just buying the best player. The goal is that Evil Geniuses as a club, even after 15 years, remains relevant, known and continues to win with the right approach.

I have been with the club for three years now. When I first came here, I asked the current leaders: "How do we sign a new player? How do we replace someone from the squad?" They answered me the same way: "Ask the coach. He probably knows someone." Now we have as many analysts and engineers as we have trainers, and we also have a few scouts. All this is necessary in order to determine the parameters by which there is a good player. Some of these parameters are in-game, and some overlap with sciences like bioinformatics. This is kind of an experiment where we figure out how to bring out the best of the best in each of the esports disciplines.

Recall that in early June, the North American esports organization Evil Geniuses confirmed the purchase of two additional CS:GO rosters. The club announced the signing of Carpe Diem and Party Astronauts to form their new 15-player roster.
