Sonic announces retirement
Sonic announced the end of his career as a professional gamer. The 23-year-old South African announced this on his Twitter, adding that he would like to focus on creating his own business.
I would like to announce that I have decided not to return to the professional Counter-Strike scene. It was an incredibly difficult decision. Now I will return to America to devote myself to my other passion - business. Thanks to the teams I played for and the people who supported me.
Sonic appeared on the scene back in 2014. Already in 2015, the 23-year-old player joined Bravado Gaming, where he spent three and a half years, winning many trophies, including the MettleState Samsung Galaxy Championship - Finals and DreamHack Mumbai Invitational 2018. In mid-2019, the South African joined the ATK roster, which, in transit through Team Envy, will become part of Cloud9 in six months.
Here, Sonic failed to live up to expectations, being remembered for being in the top three at ESL One: Road to Rio - North America and Funspark ULTI 2020 - North America.

The last team in the career of the 23-year-old esportsman was Extra Salt, with which Sonic became the winner of DreamHack Open March 2021: North America and DreamHack Open June 2021: North America, and also reached the finals at Funspark ULTI 2020 and DreamHack Open September 2021: North America.
However, at the end of last season, Sonic left the team's starting lineup, unable to find a new club. Despite a fairly early departure from the scene, Sonic plans to go into business in North America.
