ddk announced his retirement from commentary
The 33-year-old British commentator ddk has announced his retirement. The British announced this on his Twitter, adding that he was upset by the decision of Riot Games not to invite him to cover VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters Reykjavík.
With a heavy heart, I announce that I am hanging up the microphone.
Tournament coverage will always be an integral part of who I am, but I'm leaving now. I will close the current VCT and Game Changers playoffs. The realization that I will not be working at VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters Reykjavík this year was a big factor and I have known this for some time. After months of negotiations, Riot Games and I were unable to reach an agreement allowing both parties to work together in partnership.

Fans, thank you for helping me make my dream come true. You are the ones who made this all happen. I hope you enjoy my next steps and continue to support my esports endeavours. Please save your angry comments about Riot Games and respect that I want to leave on a positive note.
As you can imagine, leaving after 9 years of commenting is heartbreaking, no matter what the future holds for me, it will take some time to digest. However, I'm not retiring, I'm just taking a break.
