Deathloop users criticized the game

Game journalists recently wrote laudatory reviews for Deathloop, a new game from Dishonored creators, Arkane Studios. They highlighted an interesting idea behind the whole game. After the release of the game, it turned out that the opinion of users with Metacritic is extremely different from what the game publications wrote. If the rating from game journalists was 88 points out of 100, then users considered that 3.2 (at the time of writing) out of 10 is quite generous for such a title for PC, and the rating of 4.9 for versions on the PlayStation 5 is also good.

The main reasons for such a defeat were the poor technical component of the game. They faced many bugs and poor performance of the title with ray tracing enabled. Unlike game journalists, ordinary users found the "original idea" of the developers extremely boring, and therefore noted the excessive repetitiveness of what is happening on the screens and many of the mechanics copied from the game Dishonored, which was also developed by Arkane Studios. If in 2012 they were interesting and fresh, then in 2021 they cannot be called such in the opinion of the players. In addition, users were unhappy with the graphical state. The graphics in their opinion on the next generation consoles should look much better.

Deathloop is a game that was released on PC and PlayStation 5 on September 14, 2021. The title was published by Bethesda Softworks. The project was announced in 2019 at the E3 exhibition. The game is an action-adventure title. The plot tells the story of a dark-skinned mercenary Colt, who lost his memory and fell into a time loop. He is tasked with killing eight targets in one day and breaking the time loop in which he is stuck. If the character dies, he will be forced to relive his day from the very morning until he reaches his goal. Another character will interfere with him - Julianne, who is a contract killer. The peculiarity of Deathloop is that both artificial intelligence and a real player, opposing the user who bought Deathloop, can take control of Julianna. The hired hitman's goal is to kill Colt in order not to let him out of the time loop.
